For replacement, The filter in position 1, as labelled QC5 or#195 in the top right corner is removed and discarded of, the filter in position 3 is removed and placed in position 1, finally your new QC5 filter is placed in position 3. The alkaliser/mineraliser is a straight replacement with its equivalent.
The filter in position 2 is the Reverse Osmosis Membrane, which is replaced every 4 years.
